Visit Brooklyn

A trip to Brooklyn cannot be complete without a visit to the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. Brooklyn has become a destination in itself – full of restaurants, shops, museums and parks to explore.

Brooklyn Bridge

Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge from where you have a great view of NYC and the Statue of Liberty and you can wander from Brooklyn to Manhattan and vice versa! This iconic suspension bridge was built in 1883 and is 486 meters long. It stretches along the East River, connecting the neighborhoods of Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Be sure to stop by Brooklyn Bridge Park and take that iconic New York photo. There are many fun activities at Brooklyn Bridge Park, including free movies, music, art exhibits, and other activities.

Jane’s Carousel

I believe that everyone has ridden a carousel at least once in their life! No visit to Dumbo would be complete without a visit to Jane’s Carousel. This magnificent work of art is located within Brooklyn Bridge Park, just below the Brooklyn Bridge. Its 48 horses gallop near the East River year-round, protected from the elements by a jewel-box structure designed by architect Jean Nouvel.

The art scene in Dumbo

Brooklyn is known worldwide for its street art. In fact, today’s street art originated in Brooklyn and the Bronx. You can also look for the famous Dumbo Walls, a series of outdoor murals that highlight different entry points to the neighborhood.

housed in a former firehouse, serves some of the best homemade ice cream in Brooklyn. Try the classic flavors from their range like chocolate and strawberry, vanilla, vanilla chocolate chip or go for some of their specialty flavors like butter pecan, peaches and cream and their coffee flavored ice cream.

If you get hungry, visit Hoxton Williamsburg where I will prepare a fantastic brunch for the weekend. Take a seat in their huge lobby where there is a DJ spinning upbeat tunes. Order from the all-day menu and indulge in brunch classics like avocado toast, Eggs Benedict and the Acai Bowl. Try also healthy homemade juices such as; Bloody Brilliant that comes with beets, rooibos tea, lemon, ginger, red maca, coconut nectar and probiotics.

Radegast Hall & Biergarten

it’s a fun place for beer lovers. This German pub has a large selection of European beers and a German-inspired menu. It also has a very lively atmosphere with the occasional live band, so if you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is not the place for you. There is a large catalog of beers to choose from, draft and bottled from almost every country; Croatia, Italy, but mostly from Germany and Belgium.

When exploring the neighborhoods of Brooklyn, it might be a good idea to rent a Citi Bike. However, taxis, subways and buses are also easily accessible.
