A walk around the lake
There is a 4 km long easy walking path around the lake. The circular route takes about an hour and a half to walk, the time depends on your pace, and above all on the time you will spend photographing and observing the surroundings. The trail is not demanding, but in certain parts of the trail it goes up and down stairs. Along the way you will find some nice photo spots and some smaller beaches. Swimming is also allowed in the lakes, but only for those who don’t mind the cold water. In summer, the water reaches 14 degrees, which makes it suitable only for the brave.
If you are looking for a more difficult hike, you can also hike the mountain behind the lake, Croda del Becco (Seekofel), or take several other trails in the Braies Valley that start at Lago di Braies.

When to visit Lago di Braies
Whether you go here during spring, summer, autumn or winter, you will be greeted by stunning scenery. The lake is beautiful in every season, but a visit to the lake in autumn certainly has a special charm. During this time, the larch trees surrounding the lake turn golden yellow, adding a unique color to the lake. If you want to experience a real fairy tale, you can also visit it in winter.
