Calo des Moro Mallorca’s dream cove

Fotografija: wikimedia

Calo des Moro is located just 6 km from Santanyi. This is one of the island’s best-kept secrets, located in a natural paradise that can only be explored on foot. The beach is 1.1 km from the S’Almunia road and half a km from the sea. This tiny bay of virgin sand and crystal clear turquoise water is hidden on both sides by steep cliffs. Despite this, it is quite popular among the locals.
This hidden gem is really small, about 40 meters long, and surrounded by pine forest and low bushes and plants, but the beach itself and its surroundings are a breathtaking paradise. It is ideal for children because the water is shallow and almost always calm. However, there is rarely much room to play in the sand. In addition, there are no amenities, no restaurants, no sunbeds and umbrellas, and no water sports for rent. Bring everything you need for the day – food, drinks, sunscreen, beach towels and an umbrella. The beach is unguarded and has no facilities.

How to get to Calo des Moro beach

You can get there in two ways, on foot or by car. The beach is a little more difficult to find. Residents have put up signs that the road is private, but you can drive all the way to the beach. About halfway between Santanyi and Ses Salines, the road leads to Cala Llombarsa, where you’ll find a painted sign for Cala S’Almunia. There you will find parking for those who come by car. A small steep path  leads down to the beach, no steps, just outcroppings of sand rock. Don’t expect directions here!
